CSHQA completed extensive tenant improvements for the Bank of Idaho within the One Capital Building in downtown Boise. There was an existing small branch on the first floor—accessed from Main Street—that was expanded to fill the entire east half of the first floor. Upgrades included new private offices, additional conference rooms, and a large conference/break room to best serve the specific operations of their business.
The interior design creates a modern mountain feel in the renovated space, making an impact from the moment you enter the building through use of a focal wall backdrop behind the teller stations. The custom-designed teller stations are a highlight of the extensive interiors work performed to create a welcoming environment in the new space. A sophisticated neutral color palette to complement the Bank’s branding; a variety of wood tones and textures; diverse yet consistent lighting choices; harmonious gold, black, and copper-toned metal finishes; and an abundance of windows and glass walls combine to achieve a powerful sense of place.
CSHQA designers and the client worked together during space planning to make the best use of the square footage to yield the highest number of private offices possible. Hoteling stations were installed to accommodate hybrid work, a design enabling the branch manager to view the teller pods. This design executes an overall layout that will enable them to meet any future space needs as they continue to grow.
In addition to amplifying and raising the visibility of their downtown profile, Bank of Idaho wanted to centralize their operations. An executive suite was created on one of the upper floors so that all the Bank’s operations are now housed in one building. The suite features custom wood accent walls, solid granite countertops, and a custom wet bar. A new event space was added to the main floor to equip Bank of Idaho to host industry and downtown Boise events. It features two large overhead doors to maximize patio space and a wet bar complete with a refrigerator, ice maker, and dish washer. The client also wanted an ATM and night drop box available for street access, which CSHQA incorporated into the final design, ensuring correct security protocols were followed.
