Building on our existing design relationship with the Bank of Idaho, which arose from our work on their downtown Boise location tenant improvement project, CSHQA was selected to lead a comprehensive exterior renovation to transform their plain-looking 1970s Fairview branch. We provided limited architectural and electrical engineering services, while Structural Edge Engineering provided structural engineering. This project included re-designing the architectural façade, optimizing window and door placements, integrating an ATM and night drop facilities, and securing trash disposal solutions.
We presented design options for the interior and exterior of the bank which were sent to a cost estimator to determine the cost-effectiveness of each. Bank of Idaho decided to phase the renovation, first focusing on updating the exterior façade, with interior renovations planned for a later phase. We collaborated with the client to provide exterior façade options that were both appealing and budget-friendly. Open-faced cedar boards connect the bank with its Idaho roots and create a welcoming atmosphere. This project showcases our expertise in designing financial institutions, emphasizing functionality, security, and brand identity, successfully preserving the building’s core structural elements while modernizing its appearance and functionality, helping to attract new customers.
