The Grove Hotel Bar and Lobby Remodel

The owners of The Grove Hotel were looking to redesign and modernize the hotel entry, bar, lobby and restaurant.  They wanted a new look and amenities to compete in Boise’s growing downtown hotel and restaurant market.

The existing lobby and bar were somewhat dark and without focal points.  The check-in desk was lost in the clutter and poor wayfinding.  The client’s vision included a modern, comfortable lobby and bar that invite both hotel and visiting guests to find a comfortable space to relax and enjoy their surroundings.  The new registration desk was to be immediately apparent without being overwhelming.  The restaurant required reconfiguration and new décor to compliment a signature restaurant, Trillium, with new branding and menu.

Working closely with a committee from the ownership group CSHQA designed multiple visioning and layout options.  As choices were made, the 3D model allowed the owners to experience the space in virtual reality.  The client felt the volume of the space, understand adjacencies and wayfinding, and experienced the many new focal points.

Reinforced by multiple lighting schemes, design includes a range of seating options for bar and lobby.  A central, full height fireplace adds interest and physically delineates the lobby/bar from the entry sequence to check-in.

CSHQA also provided branding, logo and naming services for Trillium, a locavore-styled restaurant.  A sidewalk patio brings an urban flavor right up to the perimeter of the restaurant, and furnishings selected by Jackson & Company Design complete the stylish environment.
