For Dr. Gabriel and Jennifer Guerrero, building their own facility in Eagle, Idaho, wasn’t just a real estate decision. It was a design statement. The clinic they envisioned required two things at once: the technical infrastructure for surgical dermatology, and an environment that felt nothing like a standard medical office.
CSHQA served as architect of record, interior designer, civil engineer, and landscape architect — an integrated team delivering a single project with a single point of accountability. The 6,600-sf, single-story, freestanding building sits on a 0.76-acre site at 74 N Fisher Park Way. The exterior’s Tudor-style architecture reflects Eagle City’s design standards for the corridor; the interior tells a different story entirely, drawing on a Spanish Mediterranean concept developed in close collaboration with Jennifer Guerrero.
The Clinical Program
Eagle Dermatology’s program called for precision: four surgery rooms, nine exam rooms (including a dedicated light therapy room), a photo room, a combined lab and medical supply area, a product display area, and a Mohs surgery recovery lounge. Six private offices, a nurses’ station, staff breakroom, and reception and waiting areas complete the operational program. Patient and staff circulation paths are kept distinct throughout — supporting efficient clinical workflow without routing patients through operational zones.
The Patient Experience
The design applies evidence-based, hospitality-influenced principles to every patient-facing space. The client lounge, with vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams, orb chandeliers, a gas fireplace, and leather seating, creates a healing environment that reduces pre-visit anxiety the moment a patient arrives. Herringbone wood floors and a stacked-stone reception feature wall carry that warmth through the entry. Arched windows, several with gradient frosting, bring biophilic natural light into consultation rooms while preserving privacy. The result is a clinic where the standard of care is legible before a word is spoken.
The Result
Mark Guho Construction partnered with CSHQA from early programming through completion, delivered on the client’s schedule in October 2023. The building delivers exactly what Dr. Gabriel and Jennifer Guerrero set out to create: a facility that meets clinical standards and feels like a place patients want to be.
