Robert Martinez, PE, LEED AP

Lead Senior Mechanical Engineer / Associate Principal

Robert Martinez has always enjoyed fixing and creating things while learning about mechanical systems and how they interact. As a teen, he would spend hours in his room building airplane models and wanted to be an engineer in the defense industry building military airplanes. As he grew older, and with advice from his older brother-in-law who was also an engineer, Robert decided to pursue mechanical engineering. After graduation, he went to work with Carrier Corporation in Syracuse, New York, and fell in love with the HVAC industry. The rest is history.

Now a Lead Senior Mechanical Engineer with three decades of experience, he is responsible for mechanical/HVAC systems design and conceptualization including building automation and control systems design and sequences of operation. As an Associate Principal, Robert manages the mechanical team with design strategies/standards, oversees the production labor and schedules, and assists with project scopes and budgets. He also helps mentor the younger company talent and shares his years of knowledge and experience with team members, and is an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Robert loves simplicity. “Many times, there seem to be simple solutions to complex problems. My greatest satisfaction comes from finding the simplest – and often overlooked – solutions to these challenges.” In his professional career, Robert has worked on many award-winning projects, including:

Outside of work, Robert enjoys off-roading, hiking, fishing, and kayaking. He loves camping with family and friends and having a cup of coffee in the early morning next to the campfire. His best family memories include RV vacations over the last couple of decades. He also volunteers at his church facilitating teens and adults who inquire about the faith, and donates at the Red Cross.
