For Thad Newman, engineering has always been about teamwork. He thrives on collaborating with a group to tackle projects. “Culture is really important to me,” he explains. “If I enjoy my team and the environment, I enjoy the job. CSHQA has a fantastic culture, and I see myself remaining part of this team for many years to come.”
While studying at Boise State, Thad worked on a senior design project to create a device for clearing debris from a culvert at a local nature reserve. This experience honed his leadership, teamwork, and technical skills, including TIG welding and machining.
After graduation, he designed sensors for plumbing and HVAC systems but ultimately pursued his passion for building design at CSHQA. As a Mechanical EIT, he now focuses on plumbing and HVAC design for institutional, retail, and commercial building projects.
When he’s not at work, you’ll likely find Thad out on his mountain bike. He tries to get out at least a couple of days a week to stay active. He’s also a musician who enjoys playing both drums and guitar.
