Shawn McGowan has been drafting since he was 14, when he enrolled in a Duke Energy program through the BSA Exploring program. After joining the USMC, he served as a 1361 – Drafter/Surveyor. His last duty station was at Camp Pendleton, CA, with the First Combat Engineers Battalion, where he continued his drafting and surveying education. This was furthered when he earned his A.S. in Surveying/Mapping.

He is a well-rounded civil draftsman with over 25 years of experience drafting ALTA surveys, topographical maps, tract maps, parcel maps, and other legal exhibits. He is skilled in Autodesk software and has a working knowledge of MicroStation. Additionally, he is a qualified party chief and instrument operator.

When he’s not working, you can find Shawn keeping his flock of chickens happy. He also loves working with his Glowforge laser engraver/cutter, Torchmate CNC plasma cutter, and welding.
