Sean Drake, PE, comes from a family with deep roots in the construction industry dating back to the early 1900s. Growing up surrounded by engineers, contractors, and skilled tradespeople, he was inspired by their work’s tangible impact on the state of Idaho. This passion led him to pursue a career in mechanical engineering.
With over 14 years of experience, Sean is now a Lead Senior Mechanical Engineer at CSHQA. In this role, he is the team’s go-to technical advisor, designing various mechanical systems for facilities. His work includes everything from chilled water and hydronic heating systems to steam design, particularly for health care facilities, laboratories, and correctional institutions.
Before joining CSHQA, Sean worked on the Idaho Department of Agriculture Diagnostic Laboratory, tackling intricate mechanical systems to ensure proper room pressurization and airflow. This was crucial for keeping lab technicians safe and maintaining the integrity of their experiments. He also emphasized energy efficiency in the design, tying into the Warm Springs Geothermal District for clean and efficient heating solutions.
Outside work, Sean loves exploring the beautiful Idaho backcountry, fishing, and tinkering with project cars in his garage.
