Martin A. Hahle, AIA

Architect Principal

Great design is an essential part of meeting a client’s needs, Martin Hahle says, but truly listening and understanding the client’s vision is even more important. As leader of the aviation studio group, Martin stays involved in his team’s projects from initial marketing to completion. He has also been a leader within CSHQA having served as the past President for two and a half years ending in the fall of 2022.

Martin has worked on numerous projects since joining CSHQA three decades ago, but aviation has long been his specialty. The complexity of airport terminal projects—integrating everything from concessions to baggage claim to car rental facilities and security checkpoints—has long appealed to him. He spent seven years working on the Boise Airport terminal’s renovation and expansion, creating a river theme that gives the building a sense of place. Martin’s aviation experience spans from coast to coast and everywhere in-between, encompassing public and military projects of all sizes.

Architecture is an interesting choice of profession given where Martin was born and raised until he was seven: the remote jungles of Guyana, South America. He spends his spare time taming the wilds of his own yard and designing and building furniture.
