Inspired by his grandfather’s stories of engineering in the wild Alaskan outback during the 1940s and 50s, Marlon Fenton, PE, carries forward a legacy of building excellence that spans three generations of California builders. “My grandfather inspired me to pursue a career in Civil Engineering, land development, and building construction, and taught me at a young age how to live an inspired and well-lived life.”
Marlon leads the Land Development Team at CSHQA, including Land Planning, Entitlements, Civil Engineering, and Landscape Architecture. Marlon finds inspiration in life’s beautiful moments: a stunning sunrise, diving deep into plans for an exciting new project, and witnessing the pure joy on a client’s face when receiving the keys to their brand-new home or building. As a registered Civil Engineer and licensed General Engineering and Building Contractor, he brings unparalleled expertise to complex urban developments, specializing in in-fill, mixed-use, and high-density podium projects.
Before joining CSHQA, Marlon completed over 20,000 housing units and numerous master-planned communities, with a portfolio spanning the Western states. One of his signature achievements is the Crestavilla Senior Living Community in Laguna Niguel, California, where he managed every aspect from land purchase contracts and parcel assembly through conceptual planning, branding, entitlement approvals, architecture, and civil engineering. This exceptional community was acquired by Kisco Senior Living and designated as its flagship “Signature Community” location.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Marlon is a dedicated community activist and co-founder of Hope Builders, a charity organization that improves homes for families in need. When he’s not transforming communities through development, he enjoys mountain biking, snow skiing, and racing trucks, and is an avid F1 fan.
