Kristine (Kris) Dewey worked in the finance department of a large factory as a young adult. She found the amount of detail and tracking enjoyable, finding satisfaction when everything balanced at the end of a project. This experience inspired a career in the finance industry for over 20 years, from bookkeeping and payroll for religious organizations to small two person and international corporations.
As an Accounting Specialist II with CSHQA, she is responsible for a wide assortment of accounting tasks, including general ledger bookkeeping, accounts receivable tracking, accounts payable processing and project-related accounting support. “I thrive on forensic accounting or looking for the proverbial penny. Identifying where money was misplaced or misused provides a sense of accomplishment.”
Time spent with family is extremely important to Kris who has been happily married for 21 years. Kris and her husband are Girl Scout and Boy Scout leaders allowing them to spend time with their kids, now ages 17 and 15. Camping is a high priority in the spring and fall, not so much in the hot summer.
