Kevin Janik was initially drawn to architecture by his older brother, Bob, who is also an architect. Through architecture school that spark ignited! “Over years of practice, I have gravitated toward the technical side of architecture, which satisfies my inner desire to work out the details!” Now as a Senior Architect III at CSHQA, he enjoys collaborating with team members and stepping in wherever needed to ensure the success of projects. “Being part of a team where I can contribute individually and collectively is rewarding. I have found that those who have worked with me feel the same.”
Kevin brings over 35 years of architectural expertise to the firm, with a strong focus on project management, construction documents, specification writing, construction administration, quality control, and architectural detailing. He specializes in multi-family residential projects, small governmental projects, and hospitality renovations. “As they say, ‘Variation is the spice of life,’ and that holds true for me. I enjoy working on varied tasks over shorter periods of time. This variety keeps me motivated.”
Before joining CSHQA, Kevin was part of a team that designed and documented transit architecture for light rail projects on the West Coast. One notable project was the TriMet MAX Washington Park Zoo station, located 260 feet below grade under the Washington Park Zoo parking lot, the deepest transit station in North America.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys vacationing and relaxing at Sunriver, Oregon. The stunning scenery during late spring and early fall allows him to unwind and recharge.
