Katie Butler thought she was headed for a career in interior design, but architecture kept calling her name (she compromised with a double major in architecture and interior design and a minor in art). Her natural knack for detail and a strength in interior design have served her well during her past 24 years as an architect. She pays special attention to finishes, specification writing, historic preservation methods and techniques, and construction administration activities.

Katie oversees every detail, from inception to execution. Her specialties include historic preservation, construction administration, government and civic buildings, education design, and tenant improvement design for commercial architecture. She brought all of her talents to bear during the Idaho State Capitol renovation, which she worked on for more than 10 years. Her crowning glory? Overseeing the gilding process on the Statehouse dome.

Katie’s biggest achievement, though, is her two sons. She spends endless hours cheering them on at their baseball and basketball games.
