Katie E. Butler, AIA

Senior Architect / Associate Principal

Katie Butler thought she was headed for a career in interior design, but architecture kept calling her name (she compromised with a double major in architecture and interior design and a minor in art). Her natural knack for detail and a strength in interior design have served her well during her past 26 years as an architect. She pays special attention to finishes, overseeing every detail from inception to execution.

Her specialties include historic preservation, construction administration, government and civic buildings, education design, and tenant improvement design for commercial architecture. She brought all her talents to bear during the Idaho State Capitol renovation, which she worked on for more than 10 years and more recently the Wyoming Capitol Restoration. Her crowning glories – overseeing the gilding process on the Idaho Statehouse dome and restoration of the historic Wyoming Capitol Supreme Court.

Katie’s biggest achievement, though, is her two sons. When she is not cheering them on at baseball games you can find her at hot yoga, hiking and golfing.
