Gabby Aleman came to architecture seeking a way to help people and to use her creative side, and she found she could do both. As a project coordinator in CSHQA’s Sacramento office, she drafts drawings, produces renderings, and assembles material packages across a range of projects. Just as important, she keeps the team, consultants, and clients on the same page as the work moves forward.
Gabby first heard of CSHQA in a college professional practice class, when two employees came to talk about the firm. Four years later, the people are what keep her here: a team that mentors, pitches in, and treats each other as humans first.
One recent project captures why she does this work. A local community college asked CSHQA to show what an underused space could become. Gabby developed six conceptual space plans, then watched the client light up at the possibilities. Helping people picture what a space can be and getting them excited to build it is the part she loves most.
That enthusiasm carries into how she works with clients. Gabby keeps communication open and quick, whether by email or phone, so clients always know where things stand and that they can reach her. In her experience, projects stay on schedule and on budget when everyone is willing to talk things through.
Gabby is working toward architectural licensure and is a member of CSHQA’s Technology + Revit PLG. Outside the office, she paints, crafts, and takes on DIY projects, and she has spent the past two years photographing families and couples.
