Emily Snider joined CSHQA’s Boise office as an Electrical EIT I after earning her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with a minor in engineering management, from Montana State University.
Emily’s interest in the field began in a high school physics class, where circuits first caught her attention. She stayed because of engineering’s multidisciplinary nature, the same quality that drew her to CSHQA. Her sister’s path into architecture gave her an early view into how architects and engineers work side by side, shaping her interest in joining a firm where both disciplines meet.
That collaborative streak showed up early. As part of her senior capstone, Emily co-led a team designing a solar-powered, remotely operated livestock gate system, managing scope, budget, and schedule while integrating motor, actuator, and sensor components with mobile app control. She also worked with Montana State faculty to build a Canvas-based FE exam prep course, then helped plan and run a study event for more than 30 students — experience in coordinating people and details that carry directly into project work.
Colleagues describe Emily as organized, reliable, and outgoing. She credits her ability to communicate and ask questions early with keeping projects on track — including the semester when she helped her capstone team rework their testing plan mid-project to meet a tight deadline without overloading teammates.
Outside of work, Emily has played violin for more than 15 years and is a regular at the movie theater.
