Amy Dixon has been creative since childhood. Whether doodling with a pad and pencil or building boats out of milk cartons, Amy says her happy place has always been in the creative space. As she went through school, she was exposed to new art forms and those creative outlets expanded to include different paint and drawing mediums, woodworking and printmaking, leather tooling and ceramics, to name a few. So when it came time to choose a major in college, the obvious choice was art.
A few years ago, Amy found herself at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital with her son and was blown away by the level of comfort and magic she felt—having never experienced a hospital designed to that degree. After learning that CSHQA was the firm behind the design, Amy was happy to join the team as the Marketing Director. In her role, she handles the branding and visual communications for the firm and manages all content, sponsorships, and social media. When it comes to business decisions, Amy says she’s a big believer in using quality data to guide those choices. “I will often listen to my gut, but having quality data is key to a company’s success.”
When she’s not managing the marketing team, Amy is usually getting her hands dirty in her backyard garden; her patio is filled with solar lights and a variety of perennials and plants, making it the perfect sanctuary after a long day of work. She is also a regular at hot yoga where she says the mindful meditation and movement provides both a physical challenge but also cleanses the soul.
