Gabe Caretto, Finance and Analytics Director, and Danielle Weaver, Associate Principal and Senior Architect, have been announced as returning members for the CSHQA Board of Directors to serve another three-year term. As Internal Directors, they will join Scott Maloney, Senior Partner and Founder of Crain & Company, Denver, Colorado, who has also returned to serve a three-year term as an Outside Director. Returning Directors are Jim Otradosky (Chair), Jim Marsh, Mark Gier, Jesse Goldman, Jason Brunson, and Emily Baker.
How Board Members are Chosen
Each year, three of the nine seats on the board become available for election, either for returning or new members, for a three-year term. It is the mission of the board to balance the group with complementary skill sets and a culture that allows the members to work together to make the most effective decisions for CSHQA. This year’s class of directors included an opportunity to elect two internal directors and one outside director, who will begin their service on January 1, 2024.
Board of Directors Responsibilities
The board’s core responsibilities include:
- Provide continuity for the organization by assuring adequate management succession planning
- Select and appoint officers to whom responsibility for the administration of the organization is delegated
- Govern the organization by broad polices and objectives formulated and agreed upon by the CEO and Executive Team, including assigning priorities and ensuring the organization’s capacity to carry out programs by continually reviewing its performance
- Acquire sufficient resources for the organization’s operations and prudently finance the company’s products and services adequately
In 2018, CSHQA became a 100% employee-owned company after receiving certification through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) model. The current membership includes over 600 companies who have joined since 2017.
