Karen Coronado is an AIT II based in CSHQA’s Sacramento office, bringing four years of experience in architecture and interior design. She is passionate about the intersection of creativity and problem-solving, which inspired her to pursue a career in architecture. At CSHQA, Karen is key in supporting project teams through various design and execution phases. Her responsibilities include developing construction documents, attending site visits, and participating in client meetings to ensure smooth project delivery and thoughtful, functional spaces.
Prior to joining CSHQA, Karen contributed to several municipal projects focused on public service and community development. A highlight of her early career was her involvement in the design of the Yuba Water Agency’s Power Systems Headquarters, a six-acre facility where she played a role across multiple phases of the project. Karen is driven by a desire to create spaces that positively impact daily lives—balancing function, accessibility, and aesthetics with each design.
Outside of work, you can find Karen exploring local trails with her three-legged dog and attending live music events.
