Saint Alphonsus Medical Group – OB/GYN at Mulvaney Medical Office Building

Boise, Idaho

An over-arching goal for the tenant improvements at Mulvaney Medical Office Building, part of the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, is to provide a patient-centered medical home for clients.  The totally integrated practice provides a continuum of care for patient health needs, particularly with the co-location of the Women’s Clinic and Children’s Clinic in the same building.

The 22,000 sf Women’s OB/GYN Clinic fills the entire first floor.  It is organized around decentralized pods with 36 exam rooms located around multiple nursing stations and 12 physician offices.  Additional spaces include two procedure rooms, two ultrasound rooms, waiting/reception, staff offices and break areas and an open office area.  The decentralized pods provide a more efficient and in-touch experience for both patient and provider.

Soothing and traditional colors and natural materials help balance technology for a healing environment.  These elements along with abundant natural light, unobtrusive lighting and artwork add to the space.  Subtle wayfinding is promoted through color changes in the carpet and ceiling.  Patterns and colors are tied together at key circulation points so visitors are not wholly dependent on signage as they move through the suite.
