Magic Valley Regional Airport Terminal Expansion and Remodel

Twin Falls, Idaho

CSHQA provided design services to expand the Magic Valley Regional Airport terminal building by 8,000 SF and remodel approximately 6,000 SF. The primary driver for design was twofold. First and foremost, the facility needed to be reconfigured to meet the TSA passenger and baggage screening requirements of a post-9/11 airport. Secondly, the airport hold rooms were undersized to accommodate the increased capacity of travelers.

The design of the building addition blends with the existing building while a modern feel was incorporated in a form that can be expanded as capacity may demand in the future. Restrooms, concessions and a variety of seating including work-space tables and communications connectivity were added. Open space with an abundance of natural light and modern materials give the terminal an ageless look. This project included multiple stakeholders, funding sources and public outreach.
