Magic Valley Regional Airport Terminal Renovation

The Magic Valley Regional Airport Terminal project includes an approximately 6,000 sf remodel and 8,000 sf expansion.  The primary driver behind the facility is the need to completely reconfigure the ticketing, passenger, operations, TSA and baggage components to comply with TSA passenger and baggage screening requirements.  The small GA airport had to absorb most of its lobby and ticketing space to install new TSA compliant equipment and protocols after 911.  Additionally, the hold rooms are undersized and without sufficient amenities to serve a growing number of travelers.

The redesign and addition will blend with the existing building while incorporating a streamlined look and feel to the building roof, massing and interiors.  When complete the airport will have a more modern aviation feel.  Operations will be streamlined with luggage screening back behind the wall as is customary.  The passenger hold area will have restrooms, concessions and a variety of seating including work space tables and communications connectivity.  The more open space will have more natural light and modern materials will give the terminal an ageless look.
