ISU-Meridian Health Science Center Anatomy & Physiology Lab Addition

Meridian, Idaho

This project is an addition in the existing exterior courtyard space immediately adjacent to the existing Anatomy and Physiology Lab at the Meridian Health Science Center, Meridian, Idaho. The addition incorporates state-of-the art anatomy and physiology labs/cadaver room for 12-14 cadaver stations including the prep and storage, adjacent IT telecommunications room, storage room, and future ancillary lab support spaces. This new lab laboratory includes virtual technology applications with Distance Learning (DL) capabilities to interface with the existing A & P Lab. The new cadaver laboratory is connected by a new service corridor extension adjacent to the new cadaver lab from the existing exit/service corridor. This new corridor extension serves as the new extended service entrance at the east end.

In addition, the project includes a second story addition also connected to the existing circulation space within the existing building. This second floor was designed for the new home of the ISU Meridian Nursing program. It includes several teaching spaces, including research and skills labs, different types of exam rooms, group meeting areas, a conference room, several offices, storage, and electrical/ IT support spaces as appropriate. Furthermore, the overall addition includes a stair tower to provide not only adequate exits, but also access to the roof for the entire ISU Meridian side of the building. Finally, the project includes a re-visioned major entrance into the facility with a new site design linking it to the ICOM facility to the east and the parking lot to the south.
