When owner Rex Chandler decided to expand his restaurant business from Sun Valley to Boise, Idaho he was determined to create an elegant, intimate and enduring fine dining sensation. As Hotel 43 was renovated into a chic downtown hotel, a non-descript pool and patio space was to be completely redesigned for his vision.
One of the challenges faced by the design team was a relatively low, fixed ceiling height. The entry and bar feature floor to ceiling, transparent liquor display cases lit in neon-blue. Floor to ceiling windows open the space and provide city and patio views. Considered cozy by some, the bar is very intimate and the rich materials and dark wood throughout the restaurant compliment the elegant style.
Two new kitchens, a banquette room and 1,000 sf coffee shop were also completely remodeled for the new 6,700 sf restaurant.
