Boise Airport Terminal New Concessions

Boise, Idaho

Working with Boise Airport and national concessionaire, Delaware North, CSHQA remodeled or newly built 13 food and beverage and news and gift concessions at this small hub terminal. A very important goal was to bring more ‘local flavor’ to the airport. Another key factor was construction phasing to maintain a fully operational facility with pre- and post-TSA services available throughout the 10-month construction period. A third objective was to increase energy efficiency of all concessions.

Locally-based concessions include:

Big City Coffee
13th Street Pub & Grill
Harvest & Grounds, featuring local Flying M Coffee
Cross Grains Pub, regional and local craft beer and food
Bardenay Restaurant, Boise-based chain of three restaurant-distilleries
Idaho Statesman Store
The River 94.9 Shop
Greenbelt Magazine Shop

Additional concessions include:

Parrilla Grill
Einstein’s Bagels
CNBC Retail
Smashburger, a Denver chain

Work included site surveys and preparation of measured floor and ceiling plans for all existing spaces. Existing HVAC systems were retrofit and expanded with new, remote condensing units located on the roof or under the floor. This dramatically reduced the airport thermal load. All lighting was upgraded to efficient LED fixtures. Communications systems, including free Wi-Fi were upgraded.

CSHQA designed the original terminal building and prepared the Tenant Design Standards for the Boise Airport in 2002. We were the architect of record for many of the original food and retail outlets and prepared the necessary documents for the Airport to issue an RFP for a prime food service concessionaire.
