Even as a kid, Spencer Seewald was curious about how things work: roller coasters, cars, doorbells — you name it. It’s not surprising, then, that his interest led him to an engineering career. For Spencer, who joined CSHQA as Engineer in Training in 2015, engineering means turning a great idea into something useful in the real world. He’s quickly becoming an expert on California energy codes — some of the toughest in the nation — while designing systems that will work for the people who use them daily.
Spencer worked his way through college as a “manny,” or male nanny, which allowed him to earn money while hanging out with kids — something he still enjoys as a volunteer for his church’s youth program.
