Nick Buckley has always had an interest in designing and building. His love of working with his hands led him to working in construction, and once he learned drafting, architecture seemed like a great next step. Nick is an architect-in-training, receiving the necessary on-the-job experience he needs to eventually pass the Idaho Architecture Licensing exam. He is based in CSHQA’s Boise office and thrives on working in programs such as Photoshop, SketchUp, Revit, and AutoCAD where he models existing historical buildings as well as new and other projects.
Nick loves being part of a project and watching it come together from start to finish. His favorite part of the process is watching it progress and realizing how much he has learned along the way. “The feeling of completion at the end of a project is amazing,” he says. He finds CSHQA’s state capitol restoration work deeply compelling and thinks it’s incredible to see something old and cherished renovated to better reflect its rich history and character.
Nick cherishes time spent with his family, especially his wife and four kids. A few of his hobbies outside of work include 3D printing, weightlifting, photography, home remodeling, and glass blowing.
