Jay Burns brings 16 years of telecommunications and project management experience to the firm. In his previous position as a Utility Engineering Coordinator for wireless cell sites, he worked hand in hand with A&E firms to create utility paths. Collaborating with various disciplines, Jay ensured the overall utility portion of site design was completed on time and within budget. He managed approximately 500 projects for various wireless carriers, helping to bring 300+ sites on air!
Ready for a career change, Jay joined CSHQA in 2023. As an Electrical Engineering Designer, he focuses on the technical development of schematic, design, construction documents, specifications and construction administration for a variety of projects. Jay strives to be dependable and available to lend a helping hand to co-workers when needed. His desire to learn and be creative motivates him. “Whether it’s writing, designing, or even reorganizing my garage, I like figuring out how all the pieces go together to complete the puzzle.”
Baseball has always been Jay’s first love. “I never made it to the show, so I settled for softball.” He was given the nickname Franchise 20+ years ago when his coach said “Jay, I wish I had 10 more guys like you, we’d never lose, you’re a Franchise player!”. The nickname has been shortened to Chise, but the skills are still there!
