Brett Carter an AIT I in CSHQA’s Boise office contributes to design discussions and develops drawings, modeling, and 3D renderings. He is involved throughout all phases of a project from design to construction. Brett has always enjoyed putting things together and building something. The further he advanced in school the more he grew to enjoy the variety and diversity that architecture offers. “As an aspiring architect, I have been intrigued by questions for architecture’s role and potential for improving lives and communities. I really enjoy exploring the connection between design and realization of a project – especially through the exploration of materiality, process of assembly, and well-crafted detailing.”
Just before joining CSHQA, he was on the University of Idaho Design Build Teaching Team, where he assisted students and led design and building of two projects in Moscow, Idaho: a downtown outdoor café expansion to One World Café, and an outdoor classroom for McDonald Elementary. Seeing all the hours of designing, detailing, material sourcing, prefabricating, and assembling all result into two great, built projects for the students and their community to experience was one of his proudest moments.
Outside of work Brett enjoys cooking, playing board games, reading sci-fi and fantasy books, or playing any sport that involves a ball. He dreams of dabbling deeper into wood working, particularly furniture.
