Multi-family units are some of our most challenging — and most rewarding — projects. Our work runs the gamut, from affordable housing to luxury apartments and from market-rate dwellings to veterans’ community living centers. Our commitment to sustainable design is reflected in these spaces, incorporating natural light, healthy air quality, and efficient utilities.

Efficient Living in Idaho’s Playground
The Springs in McCall, which consists of two housing communities, provides affordable housing in one of Idaho’s most-visited landscapes. Phase I of the project included open space, a community building, and a playground; in phase II, a sheltered picnic area and basketball court will be added. This project features studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments that use low-water fixtures and energy-efficient appliances, keeping costs low for residents.

Resourceful Space in an Urban Landscape
The One Nineteen Condominium is part of Boise’s downtown core, located near shopping, restaurants, and many capital city businesses. It was designed with active urban professionals in mind, and it rises to the occasion: This loft-style building is situated over parking levels and storage space, making the most of what could have been just another downtown parking structure. CSHQA played up the building’s strong vertical theme by playing with windows, shadows, and materials, giving One Nineteen an unexpected twist. Each of the condo’s 27 units feature high ceilings, open floor plans, Euro-styled hardwood cabinets, contemporary features, and private outdoor balconies.

Whether we’re working on a low-income building or apartment that will sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars, we work to keep the building’s new residents in mind. Each multi-family unit we design is unique, just like its tenants.
