As a Senior QA/QC Architect at CSHQA, you will drive the quality of the execution of all CSHQA projects from a design and technical approach. You will be responsible for management and the level of work that is generated and in turn, shared with in-house architectural and engineering teams. You will provide strategic and tactical support to all Architecture, Engineering, Design and Planning groups within these development teams. We work in a fast-paced environment within project timelines in a team setting. Your reputation as an effective communicator with great listening and people skills will contribute to your success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Accountable for the betterment of quality of projects, precise knowledge of all aspects of architectural and engineering disciplines interfacing the multidisciplinary processes.
  • Responsible for QA/QC documents of the complete project.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees to ensure knowledge of quality standards.
  • Provide consultation with staff regarding building codes and provide review of the application of codes associated as part of QA/QC review process.
  • May advise on the preparation of design and architectural plans, checks progress of design layouts, design documents and schedules.
  • May review the consultants work to ensure they produce a complete set of coordinated and quality control verified construction documents in accordance with the Building Information Modeling (BIM) execution plan.
  • Serves as point of contact for all Quality related questions and issues and assists PM’s with creation of Project Management Plan and Project Manual.
  • Conduct employee training and awareness activities such as issuing regular Quality tips.
  • Work to improve the delivery of each project and in turn improves relationships and profitability.
  • Be accountable for developing new QA/AC processes and standards when needed and continuously refine the CSHQA QA/QC program and standards to make them as effective as possible.
  • Increase design team productivity and efficiency through application of the QA/QC review.
  • Share lessons-learned through the QA/QC process to inform all team and avoid repeating the same issues on more than one project.
  • Develop tools, checklists, standards libraries, and procedures that will help design teams more efficiently and uniformly solve simple design tasks with reduced risk of errors.
  • Motivate each project team to make the right decisions in a proactive manner and guide the team to success.
  • Provide guidance and mentor less experienced project team members.
  • Provide guidance as a technical resource to all team members.
  • Contribute to project team design and technical efforts thru quality assurance reviews.
  • Balance and manage multiple project assignments.
  • Assist Client Leaders in managing the schedule of quality assurance reviews.
  • Provide necessary quality assurance reviews for all projects. Reviews shall also include evaluation of adherence to CSHQA standards, multi-discipline coordination & specification coordination. While working with the team, the review of the project budget and schedule will be critical to keeping projects on track.
  • This position requires travel from time to time to visit each office and meet face to face with all design teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree Architecture or Architectural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Licensed architect with 10+ years of prior experience in the field of architecture or engineering required.
  • QA/QC experience, a passion for details a must.
  • Proficient use of Revit required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, and Microsoft Office required.
  • Proficiency with the following computer programs: MS Office Suite, BSD SpecLink, BlueBeam.
  • Outstanding communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work within a team environment
  • Personal drive to take a lead in completing projects, assigning tasks to others and reviewing their work, and maintain open lines of communication.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
