As a Mechanical Engineering Drafter at CSHQA, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating project design and/or construction documents of projects, and will also assist project teams and other staff members as directed. This position requires knowledge of the design and construction process, understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing and budgets, as well as strong skills in prioritization, efficiency and the continuous improvement of services and processes. An ability to evaluate alternative designs and associated costs, while coordinating design concepts with other disciplines is essential. You should be adept at effectively communicating and negotiating with a broad range of internal and external individuals or representatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to take written and verbal direction in development of mechanical engineering drawings.
- Revise drawings to include redlines, mark-ups and sketches.
- Ability to create and edit spreadsheets, transmittals, reports, schedules, etc.
- Ability to interact with architects and other consultants on the project.
- Willingness to work on a variety of building typologies and engineering styles.
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with other design professionals.
- Excellent problem solver with good listening skills and strong follow-through.
- Excellent graphic, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 0-3 years’ experience in the production of AutoCAD and Revit drawings.
- College level schooling in Drafting and Design, or Graduate of a 2-year drafting program.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Drafting experience with an Architectural Firm.
- AutoCAD and/or Revit skills.
