government/civic: Ada County Jail Medical/Detox Addition
The new Medical and Detox Unit is a 25,080 sf single-level addition to the existing Ada County Jail. Integrating security of a jail with medical care, mental health and substance abuse treatment needs of inmates; this 83-bed health services facility operates similar to a small community hospital. The building is divided into three primary areas: mental health, medical health and office/exam/administration. Construction began in December of 2006. CSHQA and Boise-based Layton Construction were in charge of the design-build process. CH2MHill served as the owner's representative and managed the construction process. The $5.8 million addition was completed in January of 2008.
